Locked On Colts - Is it time to start worrying about Andrew Luck's injury?

On today's episode, a breaking news recap from the latest Andrew Luck injury update. What started off as a calf strain has now been moved to the front of his ankle. After previous misdiagnoses involving Luck, is it time to start worrying? Not yet, in my opinion, but the finger should be hovering over the panic button.

Jim Irsay's comments on SiriusXM sparked a national story, but Colts GM Chris Ballard went on a conference call with local media less than 24 hours later to clarify the situation. Luck's rehab will now shift to his ankle with 3.5 weeks remaining until the Colts' season opener in Los Angeles against the Chargers. Reminder, this injury has been a daily news topic with Luck since March.

In a hypothetical scenario, how would the Colts fare if Jacoby Brissett played until their bye week? Indianapolis would face the Chargers, Titans, Falcons, Raiders, and Chiefs over that span. How many wins could Brissett guide them towards? Of course Luck might still play the opener, but, if this has any chance of long-term lingering, they should play it extremely safe and allow Luck to heal up completely. Ballard didn't rule out Luck playing if he's 85-90% healthy for the opener in LA.

Finally, stick around for the full audio from Chris Ballard's conference call on Tuesday evening. (Note: Adjust if you're listening on headphones, Ballard's audio will come in slightly louder than me.)
