We are back with the SB Nation NFL FanPulse surveys as the Indianapolis Colts head into Week 2 of the 2019 preseason. The idea behind these surveys is to gain the avid fan’s feedback about their team, and to pass that on to the daily reader. There will be an additional FanPulse near the end of the preseason, and we will subsequently have one for each week of the 2019 regular season.

The Indianapolis Colts have had an interesting offseason after finishing 10-6 and missing out on the AFC South crown in 2018. The Colts pulled in another very interesting, defensive heavy draft class, brought in a few key free agents on both sides of the ball, and will be featuring one of the most impressive head coaches from a year ago in his second season at the helm.

Needless to say there are a host of intriguing avenues for the Colts to travel this season, and the fans are excited to see where this thing can go. As we head in to the second week of the 2019 preseason, the survey conducted two questions for each respected fan base:

How confident are you in the direction of the Colts?

As you can clearly see, Colts fans have remained confident since the end of last season (98%), through free agency (96%), the pre-draft process (95%), and following the draft as well (98%). Now, with the Colts prepared for their second preseason game, fans remain confident at 94%.

Naturally, the situation surrounding Andrew Luck may have something to do with the very slight dip as opposed to previous points in the offseason. Any way you look at it, the team’s fans remain excited about the team’s possibilities for the upcoming season.

Which 2018 division winner is least likely to repeat in 2019?

As you can see there were a few teams who don’t exactly inspire confidence from NFL fans nationally. Additionally, the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, and Los Angeles Rams get the most confidence around the league with very little surprise to anyone.

On the other hand, the Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys, and Houston Texans aren’t getting much love nationally, and rightly so.

Specifically in reference to the Colts, the Texans’ draft wasn’t heralded, a real lack of confidence with their OL, and some front office issues just to name a few things causing concern for the franchise since last season. Additionally, the Colts have been rising nationally as real contenders for the upcoming season.

It’s quite feasible that a hefty dose of these votes have come from Texans fans themselves as well as the other AFC South fan bases. This season, for a host of reasons, looks to be shaping up to be a very interesting one to say the least.
