We know for certain that the starters won’t play, or at least will play very sparingly, in what is traditionally the “dress rehearsal” game of the preseason. That makes this week 3 contest between the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts a slightly less exciting affair, particularly given that the Colts only have a couple spots that are really up for grabs on their roster.
For many of us, this is just one more hurdle to clear on our way to legitimate regular season football. Still, there are things to be gleaned from this game, and players who are still in the heat of position battles. How the receiver corps and the tight end position shake out are both still up for grabs, as well as which cornerbacks find their way on to the 53-man roster when all is said and done.
With that said, here is everything you need to know to tune in to this week 3 preseason matchup.
