The next couple days are going to be busy for every team in the league as roster cut downs begin, practice squads start to round out and one team’s trash becomes another team’s treasure. The process for getting to 53 men is never a fun one for anyone involved.
The guys at the top have excruciating decisions to make and will undoubtedly have to say goodbye to players they campaigned, themselves, to get, guy’s they’ve established relationships with, people they’ve grown to like. Dozens of guys who wore a white helmet with a blue horseshoe, just last night, are probably trying desperately to stave off the anxiety of waiting and the heartbreak of a dream left unrealized.
Given the human element, these next couple days are the most brutal days of the year on the NFL calendar and we here at Stampede Blue are dedicated to bringing their heartbreak and disappointment, directly to you for your entertainment on whatever screen you happen to enjoy using the most!

Unconfirmed Rumors
- Quarterback Taylor Heinicke who was recently cut by the Carolina Panthers is on his way to work out for the Colts.
Per a source, he's already en route to Indy to work out for Colts https://t.co/7OuGHhlBmo
— Ed Miller (@edmillervp) August 30, 2019
*Ed Miller is a legitimate reporter for Norfolk, Virginia based newspaper The Virginian-Pilot
- Ed Miller may want to ask his source some questions as Heinicke’s agent Chris Cabbott denies the rumor.
Not true https://t.co/4Ah3iQzE76
— Chris Cabott (@chriscabott) August 31, 2019
- Another QB to visit Indy
Another QB on the Colts' radar: David Fales, formerly of Dolphins and Bears. He'll be visiting Indy, which is still yet to decide how it will proceed behind Jacoby Brissett.

AFC South Moves
- Jadeveon Clowney has been traded to the Seattle Seahawks. Rumors are that the other players involved are from Seattle’s offensive line.
Scoopage: SEA & HOU have agreed to trade parameters re: Jadeveon Clowney contingent upon Clowney & other players involved passing physicals. Still lot of moving parts but believed Clowney, who rejected going to Miami at first, is headed for his physical with Hawks. @NFLONFOX
— Jay Glazer (@JayGlazer) August 31, 2019
In a surprising, and hilarious, move it’s being reported that the two players the Seahawks are sending to the Texans are linebackers.
I'm told the two players Houston is getting in return are ... linebackers. https://t.co/cJxQvdrNfx
— Aaron Reiss (@aaronjreiss) August 31, 2019
LOL
Couple names I'm hearing: Barkevious Mingo and Jacob Martin
— Aaron Wilson (@AaronWilson_NFL) August 31, 2019
- The Texans are still working to make (probably terrible) moves
Texans expected to trade for a wide receiver, according to a league source
— Aaron Wilson (@AaronWilson_NFL) August 31, 2019
- The Tennessee Titan have traded Taywan Taylor to the Browns.
The #Titans traded WR Taywan Taylor to the #Browns.
— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) August 31, 2019
- The Texans lose another trade (though, not as badly)
Another Texans’ trade: Houston is trading G Martinas Rankin to Kansas City for RB Carlos Hyde, per league source. Houston gets the RB help it needs.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) August 31, 2019
- For not having a general manager someone in the Texans front office sure is busy today
Source: The #Patriots are trading CB Keion Crossen to the #Texans.. So, Gunner Olszewski sticks on the roster after all.
