The Indianapolis Colts and Chris Ballard did not have a premium position on the waiver wire as NFL teams cut their rosters to the 53 player mandate by 4 p.m. deadline yesterday. With Phillip Walker being cut, and Chad Kelly being suspended for the first two weeks of the season, many expected the Colts bringing in another quarterback to be the first news of the day.
But, it wasn’t through waiver claims, at least not to this point in the information coming out. Tom Pelissero did report that the Colts have claimed former Buffalo Bills CB Ryan Lewis which would bring the Colts cornerback corps to a total of seven at the moment.
The #Colts did not claim a QB, but did claim DB Ryan Lewis off waivers from the #Bills, source said.

Lewis (6-foot, 185 pounds) started 3 games in 2018 for the Bills and recorded 15 total tackles and had 3 passes defensed.
While we wait for a move to made on the roster itself, Pelissero has also reported that the Colts indeed intend to sign Walker to their practice squad for the time being.
The #Colts are re-signing QB Phillip Walker to their practice squad, source said.

Any more news that comes to light will be updated throughout the day.
Update:
As a corresponding move to the claim of Ryan Lewis, the Indianapolis Colts have waived cornerback Chris Milton, a major special teams contributor, in correspondence.
