After the loss of Devin Funchess to IR over this past weekend, the Indianapolis Colts front office took some time mulling over who they wanted to replace him with.
Well, it looks like they’ve finally come to a decision:
We have elevated S Rolan Milligan to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and signed RB Bruce Anderson III to the practice squad.https://t.co/JIIKXSFhSN— Indianapolis Colts (@Colts) September 11, 2019
Milligan was placed on the practice squad during roster cut downs on September 2nd.
He started off his career as an undrafted free agent for the Dallas Cowboys in 2016, had a short stint in Detroit occupying a practice squad vacancy on-and-off from 2017 to 2018, and finally landed with the Colts as a practice squad member since 2018.
Milligan will be joining running mates Malik Hooker, Clayton Geathers, Khari Willis and George Odum as the 5th safety on the roster.
Concomitant to promoting Milligan to the 53-man roster, was the signing of Bruce Anderson to the practice squad.
Anderson is a North Dakota State University alum, who recorded 924 yards and 9 touchdowns rushing on 7.5 yard-per-carry in 2018 for the Bisons.
Our very own Zach Hicks was interested in bringing Anderson to Indianapolis as a late round option:
The more I think about it, the more I love Bruce Anderson from @NDSUfootball for the Colts as a Day 3 target. Powerful runner who can pick up tough yards. Also can play special teams and block. He told me in Mobile that he met with the Colts as well. Would be an excellent fit pic.twitter.com/ca8ITKp4Qy— Zach Hicks (@ZachHicks2) March 28, 2019
