It appears the end is near for the greatest kicker in NFL history.

All NFL players come to a point in the career when it’s time to say goodbye. Unfortunately for Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri, it appears now could be that time.

The NFL’s all time leading scorer now has converted 1 of 3 field goal attempts, and 2-5 of his extra points.

After the team’s victory over the Titans, owner Jim Irsay spoke of Vinatieri’s struggles: “Yeah, it’s a concern. We’ll talk and try to take emotion out of big decisions.”

The 46 year-old kicker did not speak much with media after the game, but did state “you’ll hear from me tomorrow.”

While it’s still speculation that a retirement conference could happen on Monday, it’s likely a safe bet. Countless times Vinatieri stated that he would play as long as he “felt good, and wasn’t a detriment to the team.”

Sadly, that time has come. Stay tuned to Stampedeblue.com for updates as the news unfolds.
