Fantasy Week 3 is here. Buckle up your seatbelts, because it’s going to be a doozy.
Josh Allen QB Buffalo Bills (vs. Cin)
Allen has already had a decent start to the year, and that certainly won’t change against a porous Bengals D this weekend. Carved up by Russell Wilson and Jimmy Garopollo in back to back weeks, expect the Bills to stay undefeated and for Allen to continue his much-improved start to the season.
Austin Ekeler RB Los Angeles Chargers (vs. Hou)
I think Ekeler is still being viewed as a fringe starter, but that needs to stop. With Melvin Gordon out he IS the bell-cow back, and two dominant weeks thus far have proven that. Ultimately his pass-catching efficiency makes him a safe option while his multi-touchdown potential creates a must-start ceiling. Play him.
John Brown WR Buffalo Bills (vs. Cin)
Continuing the “start against the Bengals” theme, Brown is an intriguing play against a team known for allowing the huge play. San Francisco 49ers speedster Marquise Goodwin posted a nice 3-77-1 line last weekend, and Brown’s explosive tendencies make him a prime candidate to produce similar stats.
James Washington WR Pittsburgh Steelers (vs. SF)
Many are excited that Washington - a 2nd Round selection in last year’s draft - will reunite with his former QB Mason Rudolph this weekend, but I’m here to caution the hype. Despite Donte Moncrief (finally) getting benched, Rudolph has shown the tendency to spread the ball, and with Juju Smith-Schuster as his clear first target, I simply can’t trust an unproven Washington against a suddenly formidable 49ers D.
Kenyan Drake / Kalen Ballage RB Miami Dolphins (vs. Dal)
Don’t even touch a single Dolphin with a 10-foot-pole when it comes to fantasy. Case closed.
James Conner RB Pittsburgh Steelers (vs. SF)
Dealing with a knee injury while facing a strong Run-D (shut down Mixon for 17 yards on 11 carries) accompanied by a rookie QB.
