Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich had his weekly conference call with the media today. Reich gave several updates on players.
Colts HC Frank Reich: Clayton Geathers developed concussion symptoms after game. In NFL's concussion protocol.— Mike Chappell (@mchappell51) September 30, 2019
Safety Clayton Geathers is the second player in as many weeks to develop concussion symptoms after a game. The Colts are already thin at safety with Malik Hooker down with a knee injury. Currently the Colts only have 3 healthy safeties on the roster, Khari Willis, George Odum and Rolan Milligan. The Colts therefore may make a move at safety or a shift over maybe?
Reich suggests Quincy Wilson could see some time at safety if Geathers misses time.— Jim Ayello (@jimayello) September 30, 2019
Cornerback Quincy Wilson did take reps at safety during the off-season but it appeared to be more in case of emergency. With only 3 healthy safeties it seems like it may have reached emergency time as Reich has suggested that Wilson could see time at safety if Geathers is out.
Other injuries Reich gave an update on were, Marlon Mack’s ankle and Parris Campbell’s abdominal injuries are being monitored throughout the week. Darius Leonard’s concussion is making progress through the protocol. Reich has said the team will be cautious with Leonard though to make sure he is fully ready to go before he plays.
