Stampede Blue’s NFL Week 5 staff picks

NFL: Minnesota Vikings at Seattle Seahawks Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

One month down, four month to go. With a quarter of the regular season in the rearview mirror, we shift our attention to Week 5 of the NFL season. Not a whole lot of eye-popping showdowns and, mixing in the postponement of New England vs. Denver and the uncertainty of Buffalo vs. Tennessee, the Sunday slate is iffy at best.

Fortunately for Colts fans, they have the most exciting matchup of the week as they travel up to Cleveland to take on the 3-1 Browns who are rolling offensively — thanks to a strong rush attack and unique ways of getting Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry involved in the game more. It’ll be a bloodbath in the trenches between two physical football teams, and we’ll all leave that game today learning a lot about both organizations.

Here’s our breakdown as far as interest goes this week.

Can’t-miss Contests:

Buccaneers @ Bears

Colts @ Browns

Vikings @ Seahawks

Chargers @ Saints

Bills @ Titans (TBD)

Could be surprisingly fun:

Jaguars @ Texans

Bengals @ Ravens

Panthers @ Falcons

Raiders @ Chiefs

Eagles @ Steelers

Hit the snooze button:

Cardinals @ Jets

Rams @ Washington

Dolphins @ 49ers

Giants @ Cowboys

We’re all about spicing things up here at Stampede Blue, and this time around for our staff picks we have a new layout thanks to our friends over at Tallysight to keep track of everything in a more clean and concise manner. Let’s take a look at the updated standings and roll out the team’s picks for Week 5.

Elliot Denton: 48-14 (77.4%) / Blake Pace: 45-17 (72.6%) / Brett Mock: 43-19 (69.4%) / Greg Rader: 43-19 (69.4%) / Thomas Skulski: 43-19 (69.4%) / Andrew Aziz: 42-20 (67.7%) / Mateo Caliz: 42-20 (67.7%) / Stephen Reed: 42-20 (67.7%) / Chris Shepherd: 42-20 (67.7%)
