Tight end Trey Burton returned to full practice after not practising due to a scheduled rest day. The rest day is likely due to being recently activated off the injured reserve list and will likely continue to get rest days going forward until he is fully healthy.
Left tackle Anthony Castonzo continues to miss practice with a rib injury he sustained in the Bears game. Castonzo is the teams starting left tackle and Rivers blindside protector without a solid replacement for him. Castonzo is arguably the most important part of the offense and will be a huge miss if he can’t play Sunday against the Browns.
Linebacker Darius Leonard continues to miss practice with the groin injury he picked up in the Bears game. Leonard was off to the side jogging during today’s practice which is a positive sign but he didn’t manage to practice. Leonard spoke to the media today and did say he doesn’t feel like he needs to practice in order to play this Sunday.
Linebacker Bobby Okereke managed to practice fully today after not practicing at all on Wednesday. Okereke picked up a thumb injury in the Bears game and needed surgery after to fix the issue. Okereke was seen by the media today with a large wrap around his thumb which is to be expected after his thumb surgery. Positive step for a crucial linebacker who is needed badly with the other injuries at the position.
Cornerback TJ Carrie remains limited while he works his way back from the hamstring injury that knocker him out of the Bears game. Carrie is a valuable part of the teams secondary depth.
Linebacker EJ Speed managed to up his practice capacity since yesterday managing to go full today. Speed may be thrust into a starting spot with the other injuries that are racking up in the linebacking room.
The new addition to the injury report is linebacker, yes another linebacker, Anthony Walker. Walker did not practice today with an ankle injury. He is the teams starting MIKE linebacker and a huge leader on the teams defense. Losing Walker and the other injuries at linebacker at starting to stack up.
