Indianapolis Colts punter Rigoberto Sanchez announced on Twitter via his personal account that his surgery on Tuesday to remove a cancerous tumor went well:
Surgery went well. Overwhelmed by all the love and support everyone sent my way #

The 26 year old punter recently received some scary health news but still played in this past weekend’s game against the Tennessee Titans—after consulting with his physicians.
However, he elected for surgery on Tuesday.
While football seems rather trivial at this point, Sanchez is expected to miss at least a few weeks for the Colts—but should take all of the time he really needs, as this is a young man’s life that’s potentially being dealt with.
In the mean time, Colts fans will definitely be thinking of Sanchez and wishing him the best for a speedy and full recovery. #RigoStrong
