Defensive lineman Denico Autry, tight end Trey Burton and defensive end Justin Houston get there usual scheduled rest day to help with maintenance.
Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner missed practice with an ankle injury. Buckner injured his ankle last week Thursday in practice but managed to play Sunday although on limited snaps. Frank Reich told the media that Buckner’s ankle looked alright after the game apart from a little swelling. Looks like this is more of a day off rest than an inability to practice.
Left tackle Anthony Castonzo missed practice with a knee injury. Castonzo has been getting Wednesday practices off after injury his MCL a couple of weeks back. Castonzo played Sunday and looked back to his usual self so it appears today is a rest day for him.
Quarterback Philip Rivers missed practice today with a toe injury. Rivers continues to get Wednesday practice off as he tries to help manage his toe injury. Rivers should be good to go Sunday against the Steelers.
Wide receiver Marcus Johnson missed practice today with a quad injury. Johnson injured his quad against the Texans Sunday and was unable to return. It is unclear how severe the injury is but it could rule him out for this week’s game.
Tight end Mo Alie-Cox was limited today in practice with a knee injury. Alie-Cox has been struggling with a knee injury lately that also plagued him earlier in the year. Alie-Cox managed to play Sunday after missing some practice time last week so hopefully he can manage the same this week.
Defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad was limited today with an ankle injury. Muhammad is a key rotational piece at the defensive end position who is good against the run and a solid pass rusher. Hopefully he can manage to go Sunday against the Steelers.
Offensive lineman Quenton Nelson was limited today with a back injury. Nelson has struggled with a aback injury previously this year. Nelson is nothing but tough and would bet he can progress through tit this week an manage to play Sunday.
