Colts Injury Report: Nine Colts Miss Practice Including Eight Starters

NFL: Indianapolis Colts at Las Vegas Raiders Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Indianapolis Colts today released their Wednesday injury report for week 17 of the NFL season.

Tight end Trey Burton and defensive end Justin Houston both missed practice with a scheduled rest day. Both Burton and Houston have been getting rest days all year.

Defensive lineman Denico Autry missed practice today with a hip injury. Autry missing today’s practice could lead him to end up missing this weeks game. Autry is one to monitor this week to see if he can be available Sunday.

Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner missed practice with an ankle injury. Buckner injured his ankle in practice a few weeks ago and has been struggling with it ever since. Buckner did play his normal snap count amount last Sunday. Hopefully he can progress through the week and play Sunday.

Left tackle Anthony Castonzo missed practice with an ankle injury today. Castonzo will undergo surgery on his ankle and will miss the rest of the season. The Colts now need to find a replacement left tackle for Sunday and potentially a playoff run too.

Offensive tackle Will Holden missed practice today with an ankle injury today. Holden played left tackle against the Steelers in place of Anthony Castonzo who was out injured. Holden played well in place of Castonzo but ended up having his ankle rolled up on and had to exit the game. Holden has already been ruled OUT for the Jaguars game by Colts head coach Frank Reich.

Quarterback Philip Rivers missed practice today with a toe injury. Rivers has been getting regular days off from practice as he works his way back to full health from the toe injury he suffered against the Packers earlier in the year. Rivers like the past few weeks should be good to go for Sunday.

Both Safety Khari Willis and cornerback Rock Ya-Sin missed practice today with concussions. Willis got injured during the Steelers game and had to leave after being evaluated for a concussion. Ya-Sin appeared to finish the Steelers game but has landed in the leagues concussion protocol. Willis and Ya-Sin are critical pieces of the Colts defensive secondary and would be major loses if they can’t clear the concussion protocol.

Wide receiver Marcus Johnson was limited with a quad injury today. Johnson missed last Sunday’s game with the quad injury he picked up against the Texans in week 15. Hopefully Johnson can continue to practice this week and play Sunday.

Wide receiver Michael Pittman practice today but was limited due to a concussion. Pittman being able to practice, although it was limited, means he is on scheduled to pass through the leagues concussion protocol. Barring any unforeseen setbacks Pittman should be able to pass through the protocol and play Sunday.
