Nyheim Hines has stepped up to help replace the void left by Marlon Mack’s early injury. With a quarter of the season remaining, he has set a career high in total touchdowns and is on pace to set new career highs in touches, receiving yards, yards per reception, and catch percentage. He also took over as the team’s punt returner and has set career highs in punts returned and is on pace to set a career high in return yards for a season (he may already be there if not for holding penalties called in Houston).

Perhaps just as important for Colts fans is that Hines is a great example for his teammates and an active supporter of his community. He is actively raising money for charitable causes and uses his actions and words to be a strong representation for the franchise.

This season, he has taken over games in a backfield rotation that has been split rather evenly, including a two touchdown performance in Detroit. In that game his end zone celebration included an impressive flip that drew the attention of Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles. Just this week, he scored a rushing touchdown early in the game and had big punt returns called back for holding penalties that would have been huge contributions to the game.
