Malcom Jenkins, who currently plays for the New Orleans Saints and recently was brought on by CNN, didn’t make football fans very happy with his comments about the possibility of playing football this fall.
“Football is a nonessential business and so we don’t need to do it. So the risk, you know, has to be really eliminated before we— before I would feel comfortable with going back,” Jenkins said on CNN.
Of course, I don’t want anyone to not feel safe when they go play football this fall, but some people would argue that football is an essential business for a lot of people.
What about the ushers, concession workers, and vendors that make their money during football games each weekend? How about all of the people that control the jumbotrons so the fans have a better experience?
There are many people that rely on football for their income (including the players), and I would even argue that football and other sports are essential not only for the people that work at the game, but also for those who have such a strong passion for their preferred teams.
This is just one man’s opinion, so we want to hear from you. Let us know: What are your thoughts on the possibility of there not being an NFL season.
