The Indianapolis Colts announced that star receiver T.Y. Hilton will start training camp on the Active/Non-Football Injury list due to a mild hamstring injury.

Hilton has missed 8 games in the last two seasons due to a variety of leg injuries. Last year, he was bothered by a calf tear and a quad strain. He’s missed time due to a hamstring injury on three separate occasions in his career: in December 2014, in October 2016 and in September 2018.

In 2019, the Colts went 1-5 without Hilton and 6-4 with him on the field. In 2018, they went 0-2 without him and 10-4 with him. Hilton has been one of the most important Colts players of the decade and the return of an old injury is not the news the Colts wanted to hear just before the start of training camp.

Hilton is 30 years old and is entering his 9th season in the NFL. He is a 4-time Pro Bowler and has 552 career catches and has over 8500 receiving yards. He is in the final year of his contract and his 2020 cap figure is 14.54M. He will be one of the top free agent receivers in the 2021 free agency class.
