The Indianapolis Colts are playoff bound and in no small part due to the play of two men during the final month of the Regular season. Today, those contributions were recognized by the NFL.
RTDB.@JayT23 is the NFL Rookie of the Month.

In the final four games of the year Jonathan Taylor rushed for 560 yards on 84 carries, while scoring 7 touchdowns. Colts fans knew Taylor’s late season performance was special and the rest of the NFL took notice and named the Wisconsin product, NFL rookie of the month.
It seems like an easy prediction to make but this should be the first of many awards for the talented rusher.
Not to be outdone first year Colts defender DeForest Buckner brought home some hardware of his own.
December dominance. @DeForestBuckner is the AFC Defensive Player of the Month.
— Indianapolis Colts (@Colts) January 7, 2021
The Colts have had multiple players named defensive players of the week but Buckner outdid them all winning AFC Defensive Player of the Month. His campaign was no doubt buoyed by 7 sacks in December and January. Buckner also forced a fumble and batted two passes at the line.
It will be interesting to see if Buckner’s excellent play will be recognized by those selecting the All-Pro teams this year as the star defensive tackle was snubbed for the Pro Bowl earlier this season.
Most significant in all of this is the fact that both of these players is in their first season with these Indianapolis Colts and it’s safe to say everyone hopes to watch both of these men wear the horseshoe for years to come.
