The 3-5 Indianapolis Colts are coming off a crushing overtime loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 8, and will look to bounce back against a mediocre 2-5 Jets team on Thursday night.
Quarterback Mike White was the star of the show for the Jets last week, tossing 3 touchdowns and over 400 passing yards against a top-tier Bengals’ defense. Colts’ quarterback Carson Wentz, meanwhile, started off strong and then tailed off during the 4th quarter and overtime.
Wentz will be looking to help lift the Colts to victory and keep the team’s playoff hopes alive, while White looks to string together strong performances in back-to-back games. The biggest storyline of the game could perhaps go to either teams’ running back.
Jonathan Taylor had 70 rushing yards on 16 touches and a touchdowns in Indy’s Week 8 matchup against Tennessee. Rookie running back Michael Carter for the Jets had 77 rushing yards and a touchdown against Cincinnati just last week.
Ultimately, Thursday’s game is a big one for the Colts, who are going to have to pull off multiple wins in order to stay in the race for a wild card spot this season. They need to take care of business on their home turf against the Jets and go from there.
