According to The Draft Network’s Justin Melo, the Indianapolis Colts were among the NFL teams to meet with Virginia running back Shane Simpson at the College Gridiron Showcase back in mid-January:

A RB with clear talent, Simpson's Pro Day(3/24) will be a big showcase for him to prove he's past his INJ.
The 5’11”, 200 pound running back had 54 carries for 278 rushing yards (5.1 ypc. avg.) and 2 rushing touchdowns, as well as 13 receptions for 133 receiving yards (10.2 ypr. avg.) and a touchdown reception during all of Virginia’s 10 games (1 start) this past season.
He also had 6 kick returns for 189 total kick return yards (31.5 yards per kick return average).

He transferred from Towson before the 2020 season—where he was a First-Team FCS All-American and averaged 171.5 total yards per game (2nd most in FCS) during 2018 to go along with his 11 total touchdowns:

Towson RB Shane Simpson one of most electrifying players in college football. Is coming back from injury looking to get back on track where he left off and have a monster year. @Shane_Simpson18 pic.twitter.com/As3UVknweO

He largely missed the 2019 season because of a season-ending injury.
The Colts are obviously pretty set at running back with Jonathan Taylor, Nyheim Hines, and Jordan Wilkins in an already crowded backfield, but Simpson seems like a versatile scat-back—with special teams return ability, who could find his way onto an NFL roster.
