According to The Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson, the Indianapolis Colts have formally placed longtime offensive tackle Anthony Castonzo on the team’s reserve/retired list—officially finalizing the veteran’s earlier offseason retirement:

The former 2011 first round pick (and the last of Hall of Fame general manager Bill Polian’s Indy tenure) played in 10 seasons for the Colts, making 144 career starts.
While Castonzo surprisingly never made a Pro Bowl, let alone an NFL All-Pro team (despite being well-deserving on more than once occasion), he was consistently one of the better starting left tackles in all of football for Indianapolis for what’s been historically a premium league position.
He was even elite in 2019—before being limited by some injuries this past season and opting to hang up the cleats for good, having already contemplated retirement in the past.
Indianapolis will assuredly miss their veteran blindside bookend in 2021, but Castonzo had a great pro career—spent entirely with the Colts, and he should be a strong candidate for the franchise’s illustrious ‘Ring of Honor’ in the coming years.
