Colts Announce 10 Changes to the Coaching Staff

The Indianapolis Colts announced the following additions to the coaching staff: Joe Hastings as assistant special teams coach, Kevin Mawae as assistant offensive line coach, Scott Milanovich as quarterbacks coach, Scottie Montgomery as running backs coach, James Rowe as cornerbacks coach and Press Taylor as senior offensive assistant. Additionally, Klayton Adams has been named tight ends coach, Parks Frazier will be assistant quarterbacks coach, Doug McKenney is applied sports science/conditioning and David Overstreet II has been named assistant defensive backs coach.

Hastings most recently served as player personnel analyst at the University of Mississippi in 2020. Previously, he was the wide receivers coach/pass game coordinator at Indiana State in 2019 before being the wide receivers coach in 2018. Hastings was at Michigan before that where he served as wide receivers coach/offensive assistant in 2017 and defensive graduate assistant working with the defensive line between 2015-16. He was also a personnel assistant with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2014.

Mawae most recently served as an offensive analyst at Arizona State between 2018-20. Mawae started his coaching career with the Chicago Bears in 2016 as the assistant offensive line coach. Mawae was inducted as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2019.

Milanovich was most recently the head coach of CFL team Edmonton Football Team but the season was cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns. Previously MIlanovich served as the quarterbacks coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars between 2017-19. He has also spent time as the head coach of the Toronto Argonauts from 2012-16 and served in multiple roles with the Montreal Alouettes between 2007-2011.

Montgomery most recently was the offensive coordinator/quarteback coach at Maryland between 2019-20 and before that was the head coach at East Carolina between 2016-18. Montgomery has also coached at Duke where he was assistant head coach/offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach between 2014-15 and wide receivers coach 2013. Montgomery has NFL coaching experience with the Pittsburgh Steelers as the wide receivers coach from 2010-12.

Rowe most recently served as cornerbacks coach at Appalachian State in 2020. Between 2017-19 Rowe was the assistant defensive backs coach for Washington Football Team. He also spent time coaching at Valdosta State in 2016, Florida in 2015, Jacksonville between 2012-14 and Bethel University in 2011.

Taylor was with the Philadelphia Eagles for the last eight years where he served as passing game coordinator/quarterbacks coach in 2020, quarterbacks coach between 2018-19, offensive quality control/assistant quarterbacks coach between 2016-17 and offensive quality control coach between 2013-15. He also coached at the collegiate level where he was a graduate assistant/quarterbacks coach at Tulsa between 2011-12.

Adams was the Colts assistant offensive live coach the last two years aiding Colts offensive line coach Chris Starusser. Adams previously spent time at the collegiate level where he coached at Colorado between 2013-18, San Jose State between 2011-12, Sacramento State between 2009-2010, Western Washington between 2007-08 and Boise State between 2005-06 in different coaching roles. Adams takes over from Jason Michael who left to join Nick Sirianni in Philadelphia.

Frazier was the Colts offensive quality control coach in 2020 and assistant to the head coach between 2018-19. He also spent time at the collegiate level where was an offensive graduate assistant working with quarterbacks at Arkansas State between 2016-17 and was defensive quality control coach in 2015 season at Middle Tennessee State. He also spent some of 2015 at Samford as their defensive quality control coach.

McKenney was the Colts assistant strength and conditioning coach between 2018-20. Prior to joining the Colts McKenney spent over 30 years coaching in the National Hockey League and in 1985,McKenney was named the first full-time head strength & conditioning coach in the NHL.

Overstreet II was the Colts defensive quality control coach between 2018-20. Before coming to Indianapolis Overstreet II was coaching at the collegiate level at Garden City Community College between 2016-17 and Holmes Community College in 2015.
