Colts Free Agent WR Zach Pascal Receives Second Round Tender

According to the IndyStar’s Jim Ayello, the Indianapolis Colts have issued a second round tender on restricted free agent wideout Zach Pascal:

This means that the Colts will have the opportunity to match any offer that Pascal may receive elsewhere, and if Indianapolis elected not to match (in such a scenario), the franchise would receive a second round pick as draft compensation.

Pascal can also simply just sign the $3.384M tender outright.

Claimed off waivers in 2018, the 26 year old wideout has emerged into a valuable piece for Indianapolis’ offense. Pascal recorded 44 receptions for 629 receiving yards (14.3 ypr. avg.) and 5 touchdown receptions (tied for the team high) during 16 games (14 starts) in 2020.

However, it’s the little things, including blocking on the perimeter, physicality, and toughness, that add to the versatility and value of Pascal within head coach Frank Reich’s offense as a wide receiver.

Given the unlikely chance that another team would risk losing a second round pick for Pascal, it assuredly means that he’ll remain a Colt for at least the 2021 season.
