The Indianapolis Colts announced on Wednesday that the team has claimed defensive tackle Andrew Brown off of waivers from the Houston Texans.

The former 2018 5th round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals has appeared in 21 career games (1 start), recording 17 tackles (11 solo), a tackle for loss, and a sack.

At 6’3”, 290 pounds (with 34 1/2” arms), Brown should compete for a spot on the Colts active 53-man roster this offseason as a rotational backup defensive tackle—as he possesses some impressive physical measurables:

With the Colts in their 4-3 base defense, Brown projects as a three-technique defensive tackle with his quickness, penetration, and ability to shoot gaps.

He appears to be worth the flyer for potential additional positional depth.
