In addition to the signing of free agent offensive tackle Julie’n Davenport, the Indianapolis Colts also announced the signing of backup offensive guard/center Joey Hunt.
The former 2016 6th round pick of the Seattle Seahawks was signed by the Colts this past season and spent time on their practice squad—appearing in one game during 2020.
He’s made 11 career starts (all with Seattle) in 35 games.
Hunt missed some action this past season on the Colts’ Practice Squad/COVID-19 list.
However, it’s worth noting that when starting left tackle Anthony Castonzo missed snaps because of injury during the Colts’ Week 14 game against the Las Vegas Raiders—and left guard Quenton Nelson kicked out to the blindside to fill in, it was Hunt, not rookie guard Danny Pinter, who assumed the immediate action at left guard with the first-team offense.
See #68 at left guard below:

As such, Hunt’s a valuable backup interior offensive line piece for the Colts going forward and should provide additional offensive line depth collectively.
