The Indianapolis Colts announced on Monday that both starting wide receiver Zach Pascal and safety/special teams standout George Odum have signed their restricted free agent tenders respectively.
Pascal was offered a second round tender (valued at approximately $3.384M) earlier this offseason, while Odum was given the low tender ($2.133M)—which the latter expressed some prior unhappiness about.
Pascal recorded 44 receptions for 629 receiving yards (14.3 ypr. avg.) and 5 touchdown receptions (tied for the team-high) during 16 games (14 starts) in 2020. He comes up with big plays for the Colts offense and is an incredibly physical blocker along the outside.
Meanwhile, Odum was named to his first NFL All-Pro team as a special teams gunner, having led the NFL with 20 total special teams tackles in 2020.
Per PFF, Odum received a +90.9 overall special teams grade this past season, which was the 3rd best among all qualified special teams players. He also provides the Colts additional depth as a backup safety.
Both signed players have definite value on this Colts roster, and it’s good to see that each will officially be back for the 2021 campaign—although it was previously a mere formality.
The only remaining restricted free agent left to sign is tight end Mo Alie-Cox, who was provided a second round tender earlier this offseason.
Friday, April 23rd is the deadline to sign.
