The Indianapolis Colts announced the team’s 2021 preseason schedule on Wednesday with the following 3-game ‘exhibition’ matchups:
- Week 1 (Sunday, August 15th) at home against the Carolina Panthers (1 PM EST, FOX)
- Week 2 (Saturday, August 21st) on the road against the Minnesota Vikings (8 PM EST, FOX)
- Week 3 (Friday, August 27th) on the road against the Detroit Lions (7 PM EST, FOX)
Surprisingly, the Colts won’t face some of the closer NFL teams in proximity such as the Chicago Bears or Cincinnati Bengals this preseason.
There have been reports that the Colts are finalizing joint training camp practices with the Carolina Panthers, which would presumably be held a few days before the two teams’ matchup on Sunday, August 15th during the prior practice week.
The NFL moved from four to three preseason games this season, while adding an additional regular season game in the process for 17 total games (18 weeks).
Tickets for the Colts’ preseason Week 1 home game against the Panthers can be found here.
