Indianapolis Colts training camp officially ‘kicked off’ on Wednesday, and while a lot has still yet to be determined, there does appear to be a few takeaways early on:

Colts Quarterbacks Were Rusty
Day 1 in the books. Great to have fans back at a steamy Grand Park.

Had Wentz 6-of-13. Rusty day for the pass catchers, too.
Had Eason 6-of-10 with an INT.

Colts’ Rookie with Encouraging Early Results
Kylen Granson was the leading receiver in 11-on-11 and 7-on-7 work with Wentz, catching three passes. T.Y. Hilton (2) only other receiver with more than one. #Colts

Last two players on the practice field today are former high school teammates Kyle Granson and Sam Ehlinger, putting in extra work. Granson was particularly impressive on Day 1. #Colts

Speedy Colts Wideouts Shine in 2021 Debuts
Some thoughts from the first hour or camp:
— Zak Keefer (@zkeefer) July 28, 2021
— Both Wentz and Eason with some missed throws early
— Parris Campbell looks all the way back: Fast, smooth + and some nice catches over the middle
— You can see why they like Kylen Granson
— 2 breakups from Rock Ya-Sin
Very early observation: Parris Campbell and J.J. Nelson are having good days. #Colts

Colts’ Young Cornerbacks Take Advantage of Reps
Carson Wentz starts 1-for-5 in his first team drill. Rock Ya-Sin made a nice play to break up the first pass. Drops by Mo Alie-Cox and Jack Doyle followed. He also overthrew T.Y. Hilton, who was tightly covered by Marvell Tell III. #Colts

Marvell Tell III is an intriguing guy to watch this summer. Has had a good day today. #Colts

Holden On
I am running the risk of putting too much thought into this, but I find it notable that Will Holden was the first left tackle today (and not Sam Tevi).

Will Holden lined up first at left tackle next to left guard Quenton Nelson, FWIW
