Colts Announce First Round of Roster Cuts

The Indianapolis Colts today announced they had waived running back Darius Anderson and tight end Graham Adomitis. The Colts also placed defensive end Damontre Moore on injured reserve. The team also waived-injured wide receiver Quartney Davis and cornerback Nick Nelson. If Davis and Nelson clear waivers then they will revert to the teams injured reserve list. The roster moves allowed the team to get to the league mandated 85 man training camp roster.

Anderson, went undrafted after the 2020 NFL draft he signed with the Dallas Cowboys. He spent the 2020 off-season with the Cowboys but was didn’t make the final 53 man roster. Anderson signed with the Colts practice squad during the 2020 season, he did see time on the Colts active roster but did not see playing time.

Adomitis, went undrafted after the 2021 NFL draft. He participated in the Colts’ 2021 Rookie Mini-Camp on a tryout basis but was not signed. The Colts signed him to the 90 man roster earlier in the month.

Moore, was originally selected by the New York Giants in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Moore spent time with the Giants, Dolphins, Cowboys, Raiders, 49ers and Seahawks in his career. He has played in 66 career games and has produced 75 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, 4 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery. Moore was signed to the Colts 90 man roster in late July 2021.

Davis, went undrafted after the 2020 NFL draft he signed with the Minnesota Vikings. He participated in the 2020 off-season training camp with the Vikings but didn’t make the final 53 man roster. Davis signed a reserve/future contract with the Colts on January 10, 2021.

Nelson, was originally selected by the Raiders in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He played in 12 games between 2018-19 with the Raiders and tallied 17 tackles, 1 pass defense and 1 fumble recovery. Nelson signed a reserve/future contract with Indianapolis on January 5, 2021.
