With the Indianapolis Colts being rewarded with two waiver claims — Thakarius Keyes and Chris Wilcox — two roster moves had to be made immediately. Surprisingly, they let go of a preseason standout and former 5th-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Colts have released Andre Chachere and Marvell Tell III to make room for Keyes and Wilcox on the 53-man roster.

Chachere was a standout for the Colts throughout training camp and preseason as he beat out rookie Shawn Davis and veteran Sean Davis for the final roster spot at safety. Meanwhile, Tell just returned from an opt-out season but flashed real potential late in the 2019-20 season.

Now, both are off the roster and could be claimed elsewhere before Indianapolis has an opportunity to get them back on the practice squad.

What’s your thoughts on these roster transactions, Colts fans? Do you agree with letting go of Chachere and Tell in order to allow the new defensive backs onboard?
