Seven starters missed practice Wednesday, including tight end Jack Doyle (back), tackle Eric Fisher (rest), linebacker Darius Leonard (ankle), guard Quenton Nelson (back/ankle), defensive end Kwity Paye (hamstring), tackle Braden Smith (foot/thumb), safety Khari Willis (ankle/groin), defensive tackle Antwaun Woods (back), and cornerback Rock Ya-Sin (ankle).
Head coach Frank Reich did mention several players specifically during Wednesday’s post-practice press conference with local media members.
“Probably not looking good for Quenton this week,” Reich said. “Not ready to rule him out, but probably not optimistic about this week.”
As for Kwity Paye, who left last Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury, Reich noted, “We’re still evaluating.”
Quarterback Carson Wentz did practice on a limited basis Wednesday, which is ahead of schedule as the team didn’t expect him to begin practicing until Thursday, according to Zak Keefer, a writer for The Athletic.
The good news for the team— QB Carson Wentz will practice today. Team originally hoped he'd be back by Thursday, but a day ahead of schedule. Ankles in a much better spot than last week. https://t.co/8p4Y8MoB90

Reich also expressed confidence in his players, whether it’s the starters or backups.
“I trust our players, and when it’s next man up, we believe we can play winning football and that’s what we have to do,” Reich said.
Both Jonathan Taylor and Mark Glowinski practiced on a limited basis, too.
Indy’s been dealing with injuries to its key players since the season started. They’ll face the Jacoby Brissett-led Dolphins on Sunday and will look to be as healthy as possible going into a huge Week 4 matchup as the team looks to avoid starting 0-4.
