Colts Injury Report: CB Rhodes Continues To Miss Practice

The Indianapolis Colts today released their Thursday injury report for Week 1 of the NFL season ahead of their Sunday game.

LG Quenton Nelson returned to practice today in a limited capacity. Nelson missed yesterday’s practice with a back injury. The Colts said they would take it slow with Nelson as it is an ongoing injury that flares up from time to time. It looks as thought Nelson’s back injury is slowly settling down but Nelson will need to see how his back responds after today’s practice ahead of tomorrow’s practice and Sunday’s game.

CB Xavier Rhodes continued to miss practice today. Rhodes is dealing with a calf injury that appears to be a new injury. Rhodes will need to practice tomorrow in some capacity or the Colts could be down a starting cornerback against Russell Wilson and the Seahawks passing attack. If Rhodes can’t play Sunday then the Colts could lean on TJ Carrie to fill in for Rhodes on the outside.

WR Parris Campbell returned to full practice today after being limited Wednesday. Campbell had been dealing with an Achilles injury but a full practice today is positive news and the right step for Campbell being able to play Sunday.

LT Eric Fisher remained limited today in practice. Fisher is practicing for the first time this week with the team in a plan to see if he can handle practice time before the team makes a decision on his status for Sunday. The Colts will make a decision on Fisher after tomorrows practice and if he is unable to play then Julien Davenport will step in at left tackle.

OL Danny Pinter remains limited at practice today. Pinter is a key backup offensive lineman especially with his position flexibility at center and guard. Pinter hopefully can continue practicing and play Sunday.

DE Kemoko Turay missed practice today with a groin injury. Turay was limited yesterday and after missing practice today seems to have taken a step back with his injury. Hopefully Turay can practice tomorrow or he will be set to miss Sunday’s game. The good news is the Colts have a deep rotation at defensive end with Kwity Paye. Tyquan Lewis, Al-Quadin Muhammad, Ben Banogu and Isaac Rochell which the Colts will rely on if Turay can’t play.

QB Carson Wentz continues to practice fully and this almost confirms that he will play Sunday against the Seahawks.

TE Jack Doyle missed practice today with a rest day. Doyle had regular rest days last year throughout the season so this isn’t uncommon for him.
