Bring in a few more pieces

A quiet chilly Saturday where I am at – and so been doing a few things round the inside of the house and thinking. I'll start off by admitting I don't really understand restructuring a players contract – I guess it just changes the labels on some of the money and some of the money gets moved to different years? Well the new QB has just restructured his contract to free up money – I assume partially to show his new General Manager, Coach and teammates that he is willing to help out. Well shouldn't the team do the same thing – go out and spend some of that money on bringing in a veteran LT. Ryan was the 5th most sacked QB in the league last year – show him you want to protect him. If Brown is willing to come to Indy then pay him and let him show he is a better option then Pryor.

Go get a veteran wide out. Ask Ryan if he wants Jones on the team. If he does try to make it happen. Maybe an incentive loaded contract based on availability and performance would be enough to get him to Indy. Invest that 2nd and 3rd round draft pick on the best wide out available and the best offensive lineman available. Draft defense with the bottom half of the draft – corner backs and safeties. Bring in a veteran tight-end or H-back type of player.

CB reminds me of my ex – she loved to bargain hunt and brag about the great deals she got at the thrift stores and the sale racks. The vast majority of these clothes sat in the closet unworn because they usually just didn't work out. She would turn around and donate them to a charity and point out she never paid much for any of them. I will reiterate there are no trophies given for most prudent use of an owner's money.
