Pre-Draft Visits, do they matter?

For someone who watches or tracks these pre-draft visits closer than I do, does anyone know if any of these visits/workouts/pro days actually lead to picks for the Colts? I keep seeing all these articles and updates about players visiting and "Top 30" visits and pro days, etc.

I was wondering if they are an indicator of "actual" interest or just a smokescreen to artificially inflate some players and hide our interest in other players. Does anyone know if we brought in all or most of our draft picks from previous drafts? I couldn't remember if we actually had visits from the guys we selected or if the visits were mostly just evaluating fringe players that we don't have a lot of information about or much film on.

Thanks in advance if anyone has any insight into this, and for indulging my curiosity.
