So getting Wentz cost us a 1st and 3rd. Everybody was supremely upset by giving up the 1st, I will admit I was more than a bit miffed that we spent a 1st for 1 year of Wentz. We trade Wentz to the Commanders and get a 2nd round swap, a 3rd, and a conditional third. Not bad for someone we thought had to go.
So we have Colts Recieve: 1 year of Wentz, 2nd swap, conditional 3rd 2023
Colt Sent: conditional 2nd ( became 1st 2022), 7th 2022
Just going to call the traded 3rds an even swap. This doesn't look like a great trade but then you add this: Colts 1st 2022 used to trade AJ Brown out of the division. If ever there was a case of addition by subtraction this is it. So now it looks like:
So we have Colts Recieve: 1 year of Wentz, 2nd swap, conditional 3rd 2023, No AJ brown in division
Colt Sent: conditional 2nd ( became 1st 2022), 7th 2022
Maybe Burks is as good as Brown. I doubt it. This suddenly looks like a net gain for the Colts considering AJ Browns stats against the Colts recently. 3 Games - 253 Yds, 2 TDs, on 14 Catches
Let me know what you think.
