The Colts today announced a bunch of roster moves, which include G Seth Olsen being placed on IR with designation to return. Here's what the Colts did:

Signed former Eagle DT Anthony Dixon, who has played 35 career games and has 3 sacks. This looks to be a move for the injured Martin Tevaseu, as he's the only other NT behind Antonio Johnson. Probably means Tevaseu's injury is a multiple-week one.

Promoted LB Jerry Brown and DE Clifton Geathers from the Practice Squad.

Signed LB D.J. Bryant, CB Isaiah Green, FB Robert Hughes to go with TE Dominique Jones on the Practice Squad. Hughes is a beast of a RB that ran all over the Southern Cal defense a couple years ago, giving Notre Dame their first win against them in 8 seasons.

Waived CB Justin King, who came to the Colts in the offseason from the Rams. Well, that didn't work out so well, but it's a sign the Colts have better players.

Released RB Alvester Alexander from the Practice Squad, and LB Mario Addison was signed off the Practice Squad by the Redskins.

It's clear that the Colts Front Office isn't afraid to try and make this team better, even after a signature win.

The Colts made some roster moves, releasing TE Dominique Jones, placing OG Seth Olsen on IR with a designation to return, and signing WR Kris Adams to the practice squad. The moves leave two spots on the 53-man roster open.

The Indianapolis Colts yesterday announced that they had released tight end Dominique Jones, signed wide receiver Kris Adams to the practice squad and placed offensive guard Seth Olsen on injured reserve with a designation to return later this year, thanks to the new IR rules.

Jones was signed this past offseason as someone to compete for the third tight end spot. He played well in the preseason, but was not as impressive in the regular season. In four games (starting one), he caught one pass for eight yards (Luck's first completion and attempt of his career) and wasn't as impressive at blocking either.

Kris Adams was released just a few days ago, on October 6. He had a strong preseason and in the regular season caught 2 passes for 27 yards. Him being signed to the practice squad is no surprise, and I expect him to be back on the 53-man roster before the season ends.

Seth Olsen started at left guard in the Colts' first three games in place of the injured Joe Reitz, before injuring his knee in the loss against Jacksonville. He was placed on IR with a designation to return later this year, per the new IR rules. According to Pro Football Talk, Olsen can return to practice after week 11 and can play again after week 13.

The move also leaves the Colts with two roster spots open. I do expect offensive lineman Trai Essex to return this year, especially with Olsen's injury. However, the Colts also have two players on the PUP list, meaning that they are eligible to return after week 6. Both rookie nose tackle Josh Chapman and rookie offensive lineman Justin Anderson are on the Colts' PUP list. Chapman especially could really help the Colts, but I doubt he returns for another few weeks yet.

With two spots still available, more moves are sure to come in Indianapolis.
